NARS donates to CGPS Foundation
The Cape Public School Foundation received a $2,500 gift from NARS to continue working on their charter to enhance the quality of Cape Girardeau Public Schools
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, October 26, 2007: The Cape Public School Foundation received a $2,500 donation Friday from NARS President and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher H. Buehrle. As promised, NARS is donating the money to local charities from money budgeted for the rained-out fireworks display from the NARS Cape Girardeau call center grand opening ceremony.
According to Wendi Orenstein, President of the Foundation, “This unrestricted gift represents recognition from NARS that our public schools are important to Cape Girardeau’s economic health and prosperity. We are grateful to NARS for their generous contribution.” Funds provided from NARS will be used to support the Foundation’s initiative; Great Ideas Teaching Grants that are awarded to public school teachers to enhance the education of our public school students.
NARS President and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher H. Buehrle, said the decision to provide funding to the Foundation was an easy one. “Our business community and our ability to attract good employees are highly dependent on the quality of the school system and investing in our children’s future is always the right thing to do . We receive many charitable donation requests each year and it’s often difficult to decide, but the Foundation’s mission is one that benefits the entire community and is a great investment for future prosperity. We are happy to be a part of it,” said Mr. Buehrle. “Our public schools are a cornerstone for continued improvements in the city. We all need to continue to work together.”
The next event for the Foundation is “McTeacher’s Night” on Tuesday, November 13th at McDonald’s on Broadway. The Foundation has also kicked off its annual drive and is planning its "Penguin Party" on Saturday, January 26th, 2008.

The Cape Girardeau Public School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that raises money, through private and business donations, for educational programs and activities which are not otherwise funded or are under-funded by the district’s normal operating budget.
